The Importance of Lineage

Reiki is a Japanese system founded by Usui Mikao therefore for a practitioner to be able to state that they are indeed a Reiki practitioner their lineage must be traceable back to Usui Mikao.

In short a lineage should show the practitoners name at the bottom of a list that starts with Usui Mikao (as does mine shown above).

There is also a variation on lineages that can determine if the practitioners teaching comes from a more westernised line that includes teachings such as the Chakra system or from a more traditional line (again such as mine shown above) that includes the traditional Japanese teachings such as the 3 diamonds for energy work. Although one must bear in mind that lineage is no guarantee which system individual Masters work to.
